Explore the mysticism city of Rajasthan – Ajmer
Ajmer is among the most mysticism city of Rajasthan. Though this city is surrounded by the green hills but it looks like an oasis. This beautiful and pilgrimage city
was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in the 7th Century A.D. He constructed a hill
fort “Ajaymeru” which is also known as “Invincible Hill”. The Chauhans ruled Ajmer
till 12th century when Prithviraj Chauhan lost Mohammed Ghauri. Thereafter it became
a part of the sultanate of Delhi and a favorite residence for the great Mughals.
Mughal King Jahangir and Sir Thomas Roe make their first contacts in 1616 but it
was directly controlled by the East Indian Co. in 1818 when Scindias handed Ajmer
city to the British. |

Ajmer is also the most popular pilgrimage centre for the Hindus as well as Muslims.
It’s famous Dargah Sharif-Tomb of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and the
abode of Lord Brahma Puskar temple attracts both Hindus and Muslims. This place
sanctifies large number of devotee ever year during the month of Kartik (Oct-Nov).

Nasiyan (Red) Temple: Tourist can visit to Nasiyan (Red) Temple
which is also known as Digambar Jain temple or Soni Ji Ki Nasiyan. Its double- storey
hall displays a series of large gold plated wooden figures depicting legends from
Jain mythology. Moreover glass mosaic, precious stones, gold and silver work ensure
the blessing of deity.

The Salemabad (Nimbark Peeth): The Salemabad (Nimbark Peeth) is
also a place of holiness and devotion in Ajmer. The Bhati chief of Khejarli Shri
Sheoji and Gopal Singh Ji Bhati founded this Peeth in 1520 (1463 A.D.) People take
the blessings of deity by following the instructions of holiness Shri Nimbarkacharya
Peethadhishwara and Shri Parashu Ram-Devacharya Ji. The construction of this Peeth
blessed each devotee especially at the moonlight of Sharad Poornima. The Sharad
Poornima moonlight touches the lotus feet of the idol at 12.00 pm and blessed each
devotee when he enters the temple’s main gate. The temple is built on 42 thousand
square feet land with exquisitely marble pillars and ornaments.

Taragarh Fort: Taragarh Fort known as the Miran Saheb ki Dargha
guards the city with its six gates. People will have the panoramic view of the city
situated at Nagpahari of Aravalli ranges. This fort has the immense archaeological
and historical importance as Miran Saheb, governor of the fort sacrificed his life
in an encounter.

Adhai- din ka- Jhonpra: Adhai- din ka- jhonpra is a masterpiece
of Indo - Islamic architecture. It is name as ‘Adhai- din ka’ as this place was
constructed in two and a-half days. It is a relic of an old mosque consisting of
a quadrangle with a front screen wall of seven pointed arches. The distinct pillars
and arched screen with its ruined minarets make it a splendid architectural masterpiece. |

Ana Sagar: Ana Sagar is an artificial lake named after Anaji Chauhan. The catchments were built with the help of local populace but the ‘Baradari' pavilion
was built by Shah Jahan for longer stay in Ajmer. This Baradari and the adjoining
parks are the lungs of Ajmer city and a favorite outing spot. |

Museum: Museum is also one of the Archaeologist place in Ajmer
city. It depicts the rich repository of the Mughal and Rajput and their exquisite
sculptures, inscriptions, pre-historic section, miniature paintings, arms and armors.
